Canada-born Soho is the only Western filmmaker to have a direct connection to the filmmaking lineage of the all-time great filmmaker Satyajit Ray -- who influenced Martin Scorcese, Christopher Nolan and Danny Boyle among others. Soho learned filmmaking from Ray's closest proteges -- and various long-time members of his team including the iconic winner of France's Legion of Honour Soumitra Chatterjee -- star of 14 films by Ray. Like Ray, Soho can execute all aspects of a film himself in a truly multifacted manner -- and like Ray, Soho also films on location to convey an added sense of realism. Further, like Ray, Soho often uses real people who embody and represent the characters as was famously done in the Apu Trilogy. And like Ray, Soho makes films about the Asian experience, culture and heritage thus telling stories of Japan, Korea, China and India to give a voice to Asian Diasporas on the world stage.

Lineage of history's all-time great filmmaker Satyajit Ray

Star is Reborn

Soho has directed and starred in the first global K-pop and K-fashion film --like a K-pop version of A Star is Born. Furthermore, like Ray, Soho cast a real-life paraplegic and Paralympian M.J. Baek in a powerful role that will open doors for Actors with Disabilities. The film also features some of the most unforgettable dance sequences that bring the "show don't tell" aspect of filmmaking to a new level. Please visit www.StarisReborn.com for more information.

Buddha Files: Shaolin, Samurai & Hwarang

Like Jennie's groundbreaking video for her favorite song Zen, this is a modern-day and updated film on the most popular icon of Japan, Korea and China -- Bodhidharma (Daruma/Dalma) and the only global film on the Buddhist Extinction -- history's worst ever genocide (where every Buddhist of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh was killed or converted and all Buddhist temples usurped). Damo escaped the genocide and birthed Martial Buddhism at the Shaolin Temple that was then adopted by Samurai of Japan and Hwarang of Korea. This is also the first global film on the writings of China's greatest historian Xuanzhang (his biopic was China's official entry for the Oscars). More information at www.BuddhaFiles.com
